Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a solution focussed and structured approach to therapy. It aims to support the client in understanding more about their thought processes and how those thoughts may be impacting their feelings and behavioural responses to situations.

Through a collaborative journey the therapist will encourage the client to learn to better control their thoughts and emotions with various techniques and skills.

The course of treatment will depend on the individuals levels of distress furthermore their own commitment to therapy.

Most individuals need at least 6-8 sessions.

Schema Therapy

Schema therapy aims to allow individuals to address long term psychosocial difficulties which are a result of their childhood environment

With a strong relational emphasis between therapist & client, unmet needs are addressed enabling change and hope in clients with self-destructive patterns

Clients are able to address and modify these deeper patterns or themes known as schemas or “life traps,” developing healthier alternatives to replace them

Sessions are run for 60mins and recommended therapy length is 2 years
